Wine List and Menu from Feast of the Seven Fishes
This delicious Italian Tradition was great fun with over 7 wines and 7 dishes.
National Merlot Day. One of the three grapes found in Bordeaux and is the most widely planted grape in Bordeaux. Vin Boutique has amazing Bordeaux and can deliver to your doorstep. Give us a call at 720-799-6108 or email email@example.com
National Roasted Pheasant Day, as well as many other things including National Mushroom Day and National Grouch Day. How can you be grouchy when eating Roasted Pheasant and mushrooms? Pair with Maison Champy Chorey les Beaune or Domaine Patrick Miolane's Puligny Montrachet.
National Yorkshire Pudding Day, one of my favorite Holiday sides. With local organic eggs.
National Pot Pie Day. My favorite is Chicken Pot Pie and Chardonnay, St Aubin or Puligny, somethng out of clay/chalk to go with the creaminess. Seafood Pot Pie pair with Chassagne Montrachet, the limestone in the soil really brings out the minerality of the seafood. For Heartier Pot Pies Bordeaux seems to be the trick. And when making anything from scratch throw some of the wine you'll be serving into the sauce for a perfect pairing.
August 5 National Oyster Day
National Oyster Day. When pairing raw oysters with wine you want something light bodied so you can taste the oyster if plain, if there's a sauce you want to pair your wine to that. Favorite pairings include Entre-Deux-Mers, Sancerre and Aligote. Cooked oysters can handle a fuller bodied wine as you need to pair to the sauce, try Maison Champy's Bourgogne Pinot Noir with Oysters Rockefeller or grilling them with butter and fennel and pair with anything white Burgundy. Happy Oyster Day. If you were having oysters at my house I would serve them on my beautiful antique oyster plates. What's your favorite way to prepare oysters?
